I was raised by learned witches
with their chemistry and brew,
And all their wicked spells
From the centuries accrued
They sicced me on this world
With teeth of jagged pearl
It’s coming on!

The coven sent me forth
To sew mischief and mayhem
Upsetting the four humors
Of bile, blood, and phlegm.
To disturb one and all
With guile, might and gall.
It’s coming on!

I’m a ghoul who’s on a haunt
Posed to strike again
Find myself a victim
And walk inside their skin
Pierced by gnarled horns
Their mind will soon be torn
It’s coming on!

I once rebuked a hex
Then braved a foul ordeal
To save my prickly hide
To the witches I much appeal
With tinctures, salves, and charms
To erase my shrouded harms
It’s coming on!

They snapped my gnarled horns
Then skinned my prickly hide
They smashed my jagged teeth
Then stripped away my pride
From my beastial form
My wretched soul was torn
It’s coming on!

Soon I was forgotten
As an offhand incantation
Once demonic terror
Now an impish aberration
I’m the cunning in the night
Benign at morning light
It’s coming on!

No laurels to rest upon
With my sword I’ve been impaled
For all the ugly deeds I’ve done
There’s no moral tale
A warning I will send
Horror will never end
